Changelog: 21st August 2025

🆕 NEW: Lumi Assist

This release introduces an entirely new way to harness the power of Lumi. Assist has been built as a fresh experience, designed for highly focused, AI Agent-powered investigations we call Moments.

  • Moments let you tap into the full capabilities of Lumi’s AI Agents, streamlined for instant insights without needing to be tied to a specific experiment or project. Just set what you want to detect or record, pick your devices, and start capturing data to watch live or review whenever you choose.
  • Each AI Agent now comes with custom data visualisations, giving you a clear and immediate view of what’s happening.
  • You’ll also find a fully customisable alert system that notifies you the moment defined conditions are met within your Moment’s scene, whether by email, dashboard notifications, or SMS.

Access Assist via the main navigation bar to take a tour and see everything this new experience has to offer.

🆕 NEW: Voice Commands and Transcription

  • Control Lumi hands-free with your voice (we recommend Chrome, Edge, or Safari).
  • You can first try this out in the Protocol Tracker and Notepad, both available on the Live Experiment page. Hover over the Voice Control button to learn more.

More voice control features will be coming to Lumi very soon – stay tuned.

🆕 NEW: Mobile and Tablet Support (beta)

We’ve made the first major steps towards making Lumi accessible on mobile and tablet screen sizes.

  • So far, we’ve focused on the Live Experiment and LabOps Device pages. Check them out and let us know what you think via the feedback button in the main menu.
  • Please note: while you’re welcome to explore Lumi on mobile or tablet, some areas and features are still either disabled or not yet fully optimised for smaller screens. Further improvements are on the way in upcoming releases.

Notebook (goodbye Visual Lab!)

In response to user feedback and the way Lumi is evolving to fit into your lab’s workflow, Visual Lab has been renamed Notebook. The Notebook homepage has also been reorganised, making it even easier to access the information that matters most to you.
